Marketers are now under ever-increasing pressure to ensure that their campaigns are representative of the audiences that they serve and there is growing scrutiny of brands to ensure no harmful gender stereotypes in advertising.
With the increasing ability for personalisation, retargeting and other methodologies, what do digital marketers need to understand to be more inclusive in their advertising campaigns?
- This workshop looks at the origin of bias, prejudice, discrimination and inequality, and how these biases can unintentionally manifest themselves in everyday marketing.
- We will examine how imagery, vocabulary and other audio-visual aspects can be utilised to be more representative.
- The workshop will highlight a number of case studies to demonstrate how diversity and inclusion ensure higher levels of engagement and advertising performance.
- And we shall examine the question: what can digital marketers do to counter negative stereotypes in their work?
