Gold Standard 24
What is the Gold Standard?
The Gold Standard is a certification for buyers and sellers of digital media to improve the digital advertising experience, help compliance with the GDPR and ePrivacy law, tackle ad fraud, uphold brand safety, and strengthen supply chain transparency. For advertisers, when you commit to working with buyers and sellers who are Gold Standard certified, both your consumers and your business benefit by improving the digital advertising experience.
The Gold Standard was launched by IAB UK in 2017. IAB Ireland adopted the Gold Standard in 2021 and the compliance requirements in Ireland mirror the UK requirements.
The Gold Standard has four main aims:.
To reduce ad fraud
To uphold brand safety
To improve the user experience
Compliance with GDPR e-privacy law
It does this by combining existing industry initiatives and tools from TAG, IAB Tech Lab, the Coalition for Better Ads and IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework.
