THE REGULATORY IMPLICATIONS OF THE GDPR FOR THE DIGITAL ADVERTISING INDUSTRY IN IRELAND
The General Data Protection Regulation comes into effect on May 25th, 2018 with new data protection regulations which requires Irish businesses in the digital advertising industry to review and now plan for compliance.
In addition, the EU Commission has proposed a new e-Privacy Regulation, which when adopted in its final form, will have equally wide-reaching implications for this industry. The regulation and draft regulation provide the DPC with wide-ranging enforcement powers including the power to impose substantial fines.
In order to assist IAB Ireland members in preparation for the new régime regulation, we are delighted that the DPC, Helen Dixon will share her office’s regulatory perspective on the GDPR and its implementation in the Irish market.
