Implications of the GDPR for the Digital Advertising Industry by IabIreland on March 8, 2018


The General Data Protection Regulation comes into effect on May 25th, 2018 with new data protection regulations which requires Irish businesses in the digital advertising industry to review and now plan for compliance.

In addition,  the e-Privacy Regulation, is also being reviewed and this will replace the current ePrivacy Directive (known as the cookie directive). The European Commission is planning to finalise this regulation by year end with a view to providing a 6 month period for implementation in tandem with the GDPR May 25th 2018.
